Did you know that your heart was the first organ to be formed when you were in your mother’s womb?
That’s right! The heart is the first organ to be formed during the development of an embryo. It carries out the important task to send nutrients to all the cells in the body and it does so throughout our lives. According to TCM, the heart is also the ruler of emotions, coordinating all the emotional energetic movement, similarly to a conductor directing an orchestra.
The heart has a memory too. It is not by chance that one says that we may not remember what a person said to us, but we’ll always remember how he/she made us feel. You may not remember when you were an embryo or a baby, but your heart certainly remembers. You may not remember much of your childhood, the dreams you had, the magic you saw, all the things you’ve felt along the way, but your heart surely remembers. Write a letter to your heart acknowledging all that it does for you, how it stands beside you no matter what, how it stores your deepest dreams even if you don’t remember them any longer, how it loves you unconditionally and radiates that love towards everything and everyone if you allow it to shine. Your heart knows. Your heart is always the best guide! By writing a letter to your heart, you are connecting to your own inner wisdom. You are unleashing the power you have within!
I started to write letters to my heart about two years ago. First acknowledging it and thanking it for all the work it had done for me throughout the years we’ve been on Earth, all the things it felt that I don’t remember, all the capacity it had to transform what it came across with the light of love, even before I could talk or remember any of this. Then, acknowledging it and thanking it for all it did for me on a daily basis until our connection became stronger again and I learned how to listen to it. You see the heart only whispers, it sings a song so softly that you can only hear it when you are conscious of its wisdom and its role in your life. Your heart will speak to you silently when you are brave enough to let go of everything else.
Write a letter to your heart and observe how you feel.
“Your heart is free. Have the courage to follow it.” Braveheart
