What Are Hydrosols?

Hydrosols are the water leftover during the production of the essential oil. During the process of extraction of the oil, there is a separation between the oil and the water contained in the plant. That water is called Hydrosol and it’s very rich. Every liter of hydrosol contains 0,05 to 0,2mL (0,01-0,04%) of essential oil.

Hydrosols can be used as:

1 – Calming, soothing spritzer

2 – Baths

3 – Mouth wash

4 – Cool during heat

5 – Aromatic gel for muscular aches and pains

They should be stored in the refrigerator. The average shelf life is 12 to 24 months.

Hydrosols can be used in children.

Infants up to 6 months:

1 teaspoon of hydrosol to infant bathtub

Children up to 12 years:

1 teaspoon of hydrosol per year of age (max. 8tsp)

They’re also wonderful for Foot Baths for Adults

2 to 3 tsp for foot bath
