Feng Shui: the energy of spaces

Feng Shui means Wind Water. Wind represents the Qi or life energy and Water represents prosperity or good luck. Feng Shui is the art of harmonizing the spaces where people move.

The philosophy behind Feng Shui is based in the Cosmic Trinity which stands for Heaven (Tien), Earth (Di), and Man (Ren) where each represents one-third of a human being’s success in life each.

Heaven luck is what is often referred to as destiny, like birth date, astrology, the luck people are born with in this life, the impact of the movement and cycles of the planets on one’s specific life. It starts when one is born and one does not have direct control over it from our current physical perspective.

Man luck is related with actions and behaviours, education, competences, work, beliefs, talents, the influence of family and friends, the political and cultural context and how all of this affects a life. It is possible to have control over Man luck.

Earth luck is about the influence of the geographical location, the environment, the topographic forms and orientation of the main places one spends time in. It is basically about the energy around the person. That energy can have a positive or a negative effect. Classical Feng Shui helps harmonize the spaces in order to create more Earth luck in the space bringing therefore good fortune to the people who move there.

I had the pleasure to attend a Feng Shui Workshop hosted by Lina Messias. Lina has a captivating presence that draws you in from the moment you meet her. She is joyful, generous and very competent in her teaching making the class fun and insightful. The way she shares some stories adds up to the experience and it allows you a further understanding of these concepts in a straightforward way. You can check Spaces That Heal for further information and read tips here.

It was very rewarding for me to understand these aspects about the places we move in and to have an immediate awareness on how this energy affected me or what it was trying to tell me. It can be quite amusing to put this at the service of the life we want to live. Therefore, Feng Shui can be a powerful tool to manipulate Earth’s luck.

Have you ever thought about how the spaces you move in affect you? And from this standpoint, if you are affected by the spaces you move in, then how does your energy affect the space around you? It really gives a new perspective on the signs your house displays, doesn’t it?

I love laughing out loud, sharing wellness (raising energy) is one of my greatest joys and communicating from integrity is key to me. I believe that being playful in an emotionally charged planet is the key to enjoy the ever present synchronicity. The journey is the destination!
