Desde pequenina, sempre fui apaixonada por histórias. Queria ouvi-las, lê-las, vê-las em filmes e partilhá-las com outras pessoas. Adorava como me faziam viajar pelo tempo e o espaço e, mais tarde, compreendi que interagiam profundamente comigo mostrando-me algo sobre mim e expandindo a minha perceção, como se cantassem uma canção mágica que só eu escutava.

Outra das minhas paixões era (e é) física quântica, por isso acabei por estudar engenharia electrotécnica. Não foi exatamente o que eu imaginei, uma vez que sempre tive uma tendência natural para literatura, cinema, poesia, música, estética e artes.

Depois de trabalhar com energia em diferentes países, nomeadamente Portugal, Cabo Verde e Noruega, a minha saúde desafiou-me a olhar mais profundamente para mim própria, explorar a energia humana e encontrar soluções não convencionais. Isso levou-me a viajar pelo mundo e acabei por viver na Ásia para experienciar os princípios de bem-estar do Taoismo, nomeadamente o Kung Fu e o Qigong (Chi Kung). Essas práticas mudaram a minha vida e ajudaram-me a compreender que doença e saúde são duas faces do mesmo todo, como sol e lua são duas vertentes do mesmo fenómeno. Não é tanto sobre querer eleger um estado e permanecer nele, mas mais sobre a aceitação e vivência consciente de cada estado.

Foi durante essa busca que nasceu este site, com o nome Skin at Heart, dedicado ao bem-estar. Durou sete anos e acabou por ser a chave para a criação dos meus livros e também para as atividades de mindfulness que faço com crianças e jovens dos 7 aos 16 anos em diversas escolas.

Fui entendendo que o eletromagnetismo é aplicável não só à eletricidade, como a tudo neste planeta. E compreendi que a engenharia faz parte de mim e me enriquece, complementando a minha paixão pelas artes.

Adoro dançar e rir-me às gargalhadas, caminhar na natureza delicia a minha alma, a música faz o meu coração cantar, cinema e literatura são a minha casa e eu acredito que tudo é sincronicidade.

A minha história começa muito antes de eu existir fisicamente, pelo que sou grata a todos os que vieram antes, tornando possível que eu esteja aqui hoje. A energia de cada um vive em mim. É uma honra ter sido batizada com o nome de duas mulheres inspiradoras, as minhas Avós. É uma benção experienciar a vida na Terra como humana e o meu compromisso é estar presente diariamente enquanto por cá andar. ♡

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been passionate about stories. I wanted to hear them, read them, see them in movies, and share them with others. I loved how they made me travel through time and space, and I came to realize that stories interacted deeply with me showing me about myself and expanding my awareness as if they were singing a secret song only I could hear.

Another passion of mine has always been quantum physics which took me into studying electrical engineering. That wasn’t exactly what I pictured it would be as I’ve always had a natural tendency towards literature, cinema, poetry, music, fashion, aesthetics and arts.

So, after working with energy in countries like Portugal, Cape Verde and Norway, my own wellbeing challenged me to see myself deeper, explore human energy and find non-conventional solutions. That led me to travel the world and I ended up living in Asia to experience the health principles of Taoism, especially Kung Fu and Qigong (Chi Kung). Those practices were life changing and supported me into understanding that disease and health are two faces of the same whole, as sun and moon are two sides of the same phenomena. It is not so much about wanting to elect a state and remain in it, but more about acceptance and conscious living of each state.

It was during that time that Skin at Heart was born, a website dedicated to wellness. It lasted for seven years and it ended up being an important step towards the creation of my books and the mindfulness activities I do in schools with children and young people ages 7 to 16.

I came to realize that electromagnetism is not only suitable for electricity as it applies to everything and everyone on this planet. And I knew that the experience of studying and working in engineering enriched and enriches my life complementing my passion for arts. 

I love dancing and laughing out loud, long walks in nature delight my soul, music makes my heart sing, cinema and stories are home to me, and I believe that everything is synchronicity!

My story begins long before I existed physically, so I am grateful to the ones who preceded me, the energy of each and every single one of them is in and within me. I am honored to be named after two inspiring women, my Grandmothers. It is a blessing to experience life as a human being on Earth and it is my commitment to celebrate that opportunity every single day.
