Essential Oils for House Targaryen

House Targaryen has been gaining more and more adepts as the legitimate right heir to the Iron Throne. In this post, I will address the main characters that are naturally associated with the Targaryens, the other allies of this House shall be address in separate posts.

Daenerys Targaryen

Khaleesi has come a long way since the beginning. With a huge evolution throughout the whole story, she gains experience and capacity to rule, while keeping a gentle heart (at least as far as the book is concerned). A smart and fast learning brave leader, Danny is also very charismatic and she knows how to connect with people. She is a woman of faith and that was the main reason that brought her dragons to life: the power of belief! Rose is the oil of divine love and it possesses a higher frequency than any other oil. Rose teaches the need for Divine grace and it softens the heart wrapping it in compassion and purity. Now, more than ever, Daenerys Targaryen has an extreme challenge ahead, therefore Rose comes as a great assistant to her!

Jorah Mormont

Jorah is a complex character: he became an outlaw, stepping out of the system. Then, he became a traitor to the one he was allegedly serving, regretting it as the events took place. After his first actions, Jorah is, above all, seeking redemption more than everything else. As far as the series is concerned we are lead to believe he has found it or he is finding it now. His great motivator is love as he ended up loving and admiring the Queen he is serving. Marjoram essential oil can greatly assist Ser Jorah, because it is the oil of connection and assists those who are unable to trust others or to form meaningful relationships. Marjoram heals past wounds, enhances the sensation of feeling safe leading to openness and authenticity, being therefore a powerful ally for Ser Jorah.

Khal Drogo

Khal Drogo was a powerful warrior coming from a totally different background of our familiar characters, making him seem a savage when compared to the habits one has grown accustom to. It was therefore quite a journey to see Daenerys and Drogo’s mutual adaptation to each other’s way of being. Drogo is also an extremely physical character with a lot of body awareness and charisma that transpires through is very presence, making him a perfect match to Cinnamon. This strong essential oil nurtures relationships based on mutual love and respect, as it invites individuals to be honest and vulnerable, creating room for intimacy.

Missandei

Even though Missandei was a slave, sat free by Daenerys, she has a deep wisdom and a touching inner power. She is not only fluent in many languages as she is a natural communicator, making her therefore a talented translator. Spearmint is the oil of confident speech and it would suit Missandei perfectly, enhancing her courage and assisting her translating inner clarity into words.

Grey Worm

Grey Worm is the leader of the Unsullied, an unbeatable powerful army. Even though his people were created to fight, his nature is kind and somehow delicate, especially has he got closer and closer with Missandei. Tangerine is the oil of cheer and creativity and it can support Grey Worm to access his abundant creative energy held within his spirit.

Ser Barristan Selmy

Lord Commander of the Kingsguard under the King Robert Baratheon, Ser Barristan left the Lannisters disapointed by their controversial actions and crossed the seas to be of service to Daenerys Tagaryen. He died serving this Queen, believing that she would be the best hope for the Iron Throne. Cypress is the oil of motion and flow, teaching the individual to let go of the past and surrender to the flow of life which is basically what Ser Barristan did!

Oberyn Martell

Also known as The Red Viper, his life was marked by the death of his sister Elia Martell who was married with Rhaegar Targaryen. This event would shape him as his thirst for revenge grew stronger and stronger culminating in the battle with The Mountain, one of the best chapters of A Song of Ice and Fire, brilliantly depicted in the tv series. Oberyn is a bon vivant, very different than his brother Doran with a much more quiet observant nature. The Red Viper also has a considerable ego which, ultimately, takes the best of him.

Thyme is the oil of releasing and forgiving and could have come to the rescue of Oberyn. This oil assists the release of trapped emotions that have been buried for a long time. It is particularly helpful treating hate, rage and resentment inviting to let go and seeing things more clearly from a perspective of forgiveness. I wonder how would Oberyn’s story would have turned out if he would have had Thyme to assist him amongst his herbal arsenal!

Yara Greyjoy

Yara is a powerful woman, a natural warrior and a forced leader, who defends the name of her family. As far as the tv series is concerned, she wisely sought out Daenerys Targaryen to make an alliance. It seems like her great motivation is to give the best to her people, the Iron Born, and also to seek out justice for what was done to her, to her family and to her islands. She is moved by honor and a sense of what’s right, not fearing the need to prove herself in a world ruled by men. Wintergreen is an oil that assists the strong willed individual to surrender to the Higher Power, which is basically what Yara’s latest actions demonstrated. Therefore, Wintergreen can enhance her inner strength, as Yara trusts life with determination as she has been doing.
